Senior Platform Engineer & Team Lead – Build the core of EPspot

At EPspot, we’re building a platform that optimizes power usage, EV charging, and energy systems in large properties. It’s a distributed, real-world system where scalability and reliability directly impact how energy is used.

We’re a small, curious team — we coach each other, share what we’re learning, and constantly look for better ways to build. If you like working with people who are genuinely interested in the craft, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll work on

  • Backend services, APIs, and system architecture for real-time energy optimization
  • Cloud infrastructure and CI/CD using Infrastructure as Code and containers
  • Observability, reliability, and developer experience
  • How we use AI in our workflow — pragmatically, with good engineering judgment

You’ll work across the stack and help shape not just what we build, but how we build it.

Leading the team

You’ll be the technical lead for a small engineering team — keeping everyone aligned and moving through lightweight check-ins, clear priorities, and removing blockers before they slow things down.

You’re someone who leads naturally through technical credibility and good judgment. Coordination comes easy to you, which means it stays lean — and the majority of your time stays where it matters most: hands-on platform work.

Our stack (current and evolving)

Node.js · Python · React · REST APIs · Azure/GCP · Redis · Relational & NoSQL · Containers · CI/CD

We value strong fundamentals over specific languages. We’re also curious about technologies like Elixir for high-concurrency systems.

You

  • Have experience building and operating production systems
  • Think in systems, care about clean architecture and long-term maintainability
  • Can keep a small team focused and moving without adding process for its own sake
  • Like learning, sharing knowledge, and making the people around you better
  • Take ownership and leave things better than you found them

Why EPspot

Real-world impact in the energy transition. A small team with high ownership. And colleagues who are genuinely curious about building things the right way.

We’re based in Stockholm and work from our office at Stora Essingen.
